Canberra Rotary Peace Bell

The Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin undertook an ambitious project of building a peace bell pavilion within the Canberra Nara Peace Park precinct on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin. After raising nearly $250,000 the bell was placed in the pavilion on 23 February 2018.

As 2020 arrived, my time spent on paid work was reduced as I canceled most contracts I had — managing websites mainly — that I had designed originally. I still plan to spend plenty of time on my iMac, working on charity projects mainly. Websites, video clips, and video editing are project types that I regularly produce, along with a bit of photo retouching. Occasionally, I design and produce printed material.

The organisations I create work for are The Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin, Fred Smith Entertainer, SiamTwist Restaurant, Beth Lewis COACH | MENTOR | SPEAKER, The Framing Store, and Bytes’nColours printers.

Some work is shown below.

The Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin.

Canberra Rotary Peace Bell.

While the bell was launched on 23 February 2018, I have continually re-freshed the design since then.

The Japanese Candle Festival.

After a two year break due to Covid-19, the Festival returns on Saturday 3 December 2022. I designed two huge banners to identify our stalls.

International Day of Peace Ceremony.

All World Peace Bells are rung on — 21 September each year. The Chief Minister’s Rotary Peace Prize winner is announced during the ceremony.

Fred Smith.

Video editing.

Fred Smith writes songs. Some of them are sad. Some of them are funny. Some are sad and funny.

Promotion for Fred’s concerts is created for A3 printed posters, social media posts and email campaigns.

Corporate Image.

I have designed a new corporate look for all of Fred’s material using colours and Fred’s signature as the structure.

Website design.

I initially created the website in 2018 but re-designed the homepage late in 2022 to reflect current styles better. I continue to manage the website which includes changing a huge menu quarterly.

Corporate Id.

The original Siamtwist logo was not created by me. Rather than totally redesign it, I extended it to include graphics that visually explain the combination of Thai Restaurant and coffee shop that it is.

Corporate Id Print.

Currently the only printed item in the Corporate Id is a business card.
